Tom Galvin has had a lifelong interest in art, especially in classical drawing, impressionism, and the paintings of Jackson Pollock. After graduation from the University of Rochester with a degree in business, Galvin put his art career on hold to focus on family and business. He became a successful commercial realtor and has been involved in many commercial real estate projects throughout Monroe County.
In 2001 Galvin resumed his interest in art, studying with Rochester, NY artists Steve Carpenter and Chas Davis. A year later his art career swung into high gear, partnering with Davis to create Galvin Davis Studio in the Valley Building at 339 East Ave in Rochester.
Thousands of people have seen Tom Galvin's paintings every day between 2001 and 2007 while his work hung on the front of the Valley Building at 339 East Avenue in Rochester, NY, until the building was sold in the summer of 2007.
Tom Galvin has since developed a unique personal visual language, combining his interests in Pollock, drawing, and Impressionism. His latest work explores landscape and floral still life, and may be seen by private appointment or at periodic open studio viewings.
